HAROLD C. ICKES, SR.

Of 207 Seventh avenue, Juniata, died at 5.35 o'clock this morning in 
Mercy hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona Jan. 9, 
1888, a son of John H. and Nancy J. (England) Ickes. He had been 
employed as an accountant at the Miami hotel, Miami, Fla. Surviving are 
his wife, the former Elizabeth McElhenney; a son, Harold, jr., of 
Chicago; a step-son, Kenneth Greenwood of Altoona; a step-daughter, 
Mrs. Rae Jean Gehret of Miami, Fla.; three brothers, Mayberry of 
Pittsburgh and William and John of Altoona; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah 
Snavely and Mrs. Anna Hunt of Altoona, and nine grandchildren. Friends 
will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock tomorrow 
evening.
