Mrs. Irwin Is Run Down by Johnstown Express at Kittanning Point As Johnstown express was winding the curve at Kittanning Point on Saturday morning about 8 o'clock it ran into a woman and cut off both her feet. The train was stopped and the injured woman was taken to the station. It was discovered that her name was Mrs. Lucretia Irvin and that her home was near by. She was taken there and Dr. S. M. Rose, of this city, and Dr. Troxell, of Gallitzin, were summoned. They dressed her injuries, but expressed little hope of her recovery. She was still living, however, at 6 o'clock last evening. Mrs. Irvin had started out in the morning to visit a sick neighbor and having her head wrapped up in a shawl did not hear the train approaching on the track upon which she was walking. The injured woman has a husband and twelve children. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, February 18, 1895, page 1 LOCAL BREVITIES.
