She was born Jan. 29, 1868 at Fostoria, the daughter of Samuel and Louise (Swope) Henshey, and was married in Altoona in September, 1899 to the late E. R. Irwin. Surviving are one son, L. William Irwin of Monroeville; three daughters, Dorothy Jean and Laura Amelia, at home and Mrs. Mary Clark of Camp Hill. Mrs. Ida Franks was raised as a foster daughter in the home, and there are one step-son and two step-daughters, Robert of Pottstown, Mrs. Edna Stark of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Eevelyn Garrett of Temple City, Calif., 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Bellwood. Friends will be received at the Russin funeral home, Bellwood. Altoona Mirror, October 19, 1953
