He lived in Altoona for over 25 years prior to his death and was born in Sinking Valley and moved to Hollidaysburg some years later. He was a teamster. He was survived by wife Susan Lingafelt, son David and daughter Susan. Also survived by half brothers William, Robert and Albert Irvin, and half sisters Annie Miller and Martha Somers. Funeral at 1st Lutheran Church. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., March 1, 1901 James Irwin died yesterday morning at his home, in Altoona, of cerebral hemorrhages, aged 69 years, 4 months and 12 days. Deceased was born in Sinking Valley. The family removing to Hollidaysburg in his boyhood days. Mr. Irwin had resided in Altoona the past twenty- five years, following the occupation of a teamster. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Susan Irwin, two children, Mrs. William Kneply and David C. Irwin, a Pittsburg division conductor.
