Etna, at 5 o'clock on Saturday evening. The deceased was born at Arch Springs, Sinking Valley, June 25, 1808. During his early manhood he engaged in tanning, milling and storekeeping. In 1825 he married Miss Mary A. Davis of Waterstreet, Huntingdon county, who still survives, together with the following children: George D. of Altoona, J. Harvey and John B. of Mt. Etna, Thomas S. of Pittsburgh, Howard P. of Huntingdon, S. Moore of Bakersfield, Cal., Mrs. J. P. Lafferty and Mrs. J. D. Bloomhardt of this city. All were present at his bedside, except the son who resides in California. Mr. Isett was prominently identified with the iron industry of the county and was part owner of Elizabeth, Union and Rockhill furnaces. In 1848 he and others purchased over 6,000 acres of mountain coal land at Mt. Etna. He was a stockholder and the first superintendent of the Juniata iron company of Hollidaysburg and built the rolling mill there and the Gap furnace. In his daily walk in life he was honest, charitable and worthy, and won for himself a large circle of friends, who esteemed him for his worth. He was always a great temperance worker and for fifty-six years was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning, leaving his late home at 10 o'clock; interment in Arch Springs cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., May 20, 1895
