JACKA Of 1302 Ninth Street, Altoona, died this morning at Mercy Hospital where he was admitted on Oct 8. He was born in Orbisonia on Sept. 5, 1883, a son of John and Margaret (Wilson) Jacka, and had resided in Altoona for the past thirty five years. He was a retired stationary engineer in the Juniata boiler shops. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rosella (Yon) Jacka, three children, Mrs. Dorothy Axtell of the city, Pfc. James William Jacka, in the army in the South Pacific area and Mrs. Betty Reigh, at home, eight grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, John of Mapleton, Robert of Orbisonia and Mrs. Mabel Jamison of Huntingdon. Mr. Jacka was a member of the Orbisonia Episcopalian church. Friends will be received at the Hickey funeral home Sunday evening. Interment in Grandview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, October 13, 1945
