Jackson, an old and respected citizen of the city occurred at his home 1216 Seventh avenue at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Jackson was born in Sewickley, Allegheny county, February 13, 1827, and had been a resident of Altoona the last twenty-four years, being employed for seventeen years in the railroad company's cab shop under Foreman McNoldy. He is survived by his wife, one son, Byron Jackson, and three daughters, Mrs. H. F. Faber, Mrs. S. R. Snyder and Miss Cora of this city, and one sister, Miss Rebecca, who resides in Beaver. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The body will be interred at Hollidaysburg in the Presbyterian cemetery by Undertaker Stevens.
