Jacobs, of Hollidaysburg, died at 5:30 o'clock on Saturday morning last, after an illness extending over a week, the result of a severe cold contracted while attending to his usual duties, on last Thursday a week. The cold settled throughout his system, and culminated in rheumatism of the throat. Towards the last, deceased complained of great pains in his breast and when the watchers left his bedside on Saturday morning at 5 o'clock, his condition seemed somewhat improved, but scarcely had they retired, when grim death entered, and claimed its own. Mr. Jacobs was one of the best known citizens in Hollidaysburg, and at the time of his death was about 75 years of age. The funeral took place at 8 o'clock this afternoon. Interment in the Presbyterian cemetery at Hollidaysburg. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, November 4, 1889
