Jacobs, aged 20 years, brakeman on William Lowe's local freight train, running between Altoona and Union Furnace, met his death at No. 11 bridge at Ironsville on Thursday morning. The mangled body of the unfortunate young man was found lying along the track by Conductor Wolf's crew of local trainmen before he had been missed from his own train. The remains were taken to Tyrone, where they were prepared for burial by Undertakers Burley & Graham, who shipped the body on Saturday afternoon to Mifflin, where the young man's parents reside. The deceased had been running on this local train for the pat two years and boarded in this city. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Monday Evening, March 20, 1893
