He was born in Shirleysburg, Huntingdon county, on April 25, 1849, and came to this city to enter the service of the railroad company in 1881. He had served continuously since that time. He was married in 1871 to Miss Wili Lang, who survives with two sons, C. B. of Altoona and R. D., of the U.S. navy. He is also survived by one brother, A. C. Johnson of this city. He was a member of the First Lutheran church, Logan lodge, Knights of Pythias, and Verandah lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Funeral services will be held at the residence this afternoon at 2.30. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
