At twenty minutes after 6 o'clock yesterday evening Mr. John Johnson died at the home of his son, George W. Johnson, 611 Third avenue, the cause of death being diseases incident to old age. Mr. Johnson was born at Weston's Mills, Huntingdon county, October 25, 1818, and was consequently aged 80 years, 8 months and 10 days. He had made his home with his son at whose residence he died, for the past twenty years. Besides this son he is survived by five grandchildren as follows: Mrs. C. G. D. Singer, J. W. L. Johnson and Mrs. C. M. Keel, of this city; Mrs. William Corbin, of Juniata township, Huntingdon county, and Thomas Henry, of Huntingdon. In addition he leaves five great grandchildren and two sisters and one brother. These latter are: Mrs. Elizabeth P. McCormick, of Sinking Valley; Mrs. J. W. Weston, of Indiana, Pa., and William P. Johnson, of Tipton. His wife preceded him to the grave twenty-three years ago. Deceased was sexton of the Huntingdon cemetery seventeen years and of the First Methodist Episcopal church of that place for thirty-three years. The funeral party will go to Huntingdon on main line express to-morrow morning, leaving here at 11.40 o'clock. The services will be held in the First Methodist Episcopal church.
