All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ MARY ANN JOHNSTON Mrs. Mary Ann Johnston, long a resident of the city, died at her home, 1218 Third avenue, at 10:55 o'clock last night, of paralysis after an illness covering a period of one year. Deceased was aged 72 years, 11 months and 17 days, and had resided in the city for the past thirty-six years. She was a charter member of the Eighth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church and was esteemed and respected by all who shared her acquaintance. She is survived by these children: Scott J., Foster M., Mrs. Clara Watson, Mrs. Bertha Smith, of Altoona; Nannie and Elizabeth, both at home. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Rachel Goebel and Mrs. E. L. Russ, of Washington, D.C.; John, James and William McCurdy, all of Altoona, and twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, January 29, 1909, p. 8, col. 6
