Veteran, Aged Eldorado Resident Dies Scott J. Johnston, 92, of 5101 Highland Park Ave., where he resided with a grandson, Harry A. Johnston, died at 7:35 p.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital where he was admitted Oct. 27 after suffering a fractured hip in a fall. He was a retired clerk in the P.R.R. Juniata Storekeeper Office, having concluded his service for the railroad company April 1, 1940, after 49 years and 7 months. An enthusiastic sports fan, Mr. Johnston had served as president of the Eldorado Athletic Association. Born in Altoona Jan. 27, 1875, he was a son of Joseph and Polly Ann (McCurdy) Johnston, and Dec. 7, 1893, married Jane Louise Fettinger who died April 28, 1929. Surviving are two children, Charles of King of Prussia and Mrs. Elton Sweet of Lewistown; five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnston was a member of the Fifty-Eighth Street Methodist Church. Altoona Mirror, November 18, 1966
