DIED.

JOHNSTON. - At the residence of Wm. W. Jackson, in Gaysport, Pa.,
January 28, 1876, Mrs. Susan Johnston, aged 74.

Deceased was born in Delaware county, Pa., in 1802, lived for many
years in Baltimore, Md., and for 40 years has been a resident of
Gaysport.  She was for more than half a century a member of the M. E.
church and evinced a simplicity, pureness and fidelity of character
which gave to her life commanding power.  She sleeps well.
