August Kahler.

  August Kahler, an aged inmate of the county hospital, died at that 
place Sunday morning, following an illness of four weeks from apoplexy.  
The deceased was born January 20, 1829, at Frieburg Germany.  He came 
to this country in early manhood and until ten years ago resided in 
Sinking Valley, where he labored on the farms and in stone quarries.  
During the ten years his home was mostly with friends in Tyrone.
  Forty three year ago he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Dell of 
Canoe valley, who preceded him to the grave several years ago. Three 
children were born to this union, of who two, Misses Mary and Celia 
Kahler of Tyrone, survive.
  Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. J. Sheaffer, of Columbia 
Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, were held at 10 o'clock this 
forenoon at the home of Mrs. Croft, on Garfield street.  Interment in 
Grand View cemetery.
