JOHN M. KAUFFMAN

  John M. Kauffman, retired P.R.R. employee, died at this home, 102 
West Thirteenth avenue, Thursday, 7:45 p.m., of complications, after 
several weeks illness.  Mr. Kauffman was a son of Henry and Katharine 
Kauffman, born at Ryde, July 20, 1851.  He was of Presbyterian faith. 
Fourteen years ago he was retired as crane director in the Juniata 
shops. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters:  Mrs. Mary 
Fields, Emory F. Kauffman, Mrs. Alice Eichelberger, Miss June, Charles 
B. and Miss Fannie Kauffman, Mrs. Hannah Deibler, Altoona; David W. 
Kauffman, Spokane, Wash.  Funeral service will be held at the home 
Saturday, 4 p.m. followed by interment in Fairview cemetery.
