Ivy, infant daughter of Henry W. and Millie Keagy, aged 2 years, 4 months and 27 days, was laid away Friday afternoon in her little home in the cold, cold ground, whilst her childish spirit, freed from care, sorrow and pain, was wafted by angel hands into the arms of Him who took little children in His arms and blessed them while on earth. Membraneous croup seized her frame and the reaper thrust in his blade and cut the cord, and little Ivy clings no longer to mother and home, but calmly she passed over to the other side. Just a few days before Christmas and the little one died. The cradle is empty, the pillows are wet with tears, one little pair of stocking will not hang on the chair. But Ivy will be spending Christmas in Christ's eternal home, and the thought will dry the mother's tears and soothe the father's heart. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, December 23, 1890
