KEIRN Of 1115 Fifth avenue, a retired employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, died at his home at 6.45 o'clock this morning after an extended illness. He was born in Allegheny county on Dec. 22, 1863, a son of Turbeth and Sarah Ellen Keirn, and came to Altoona with his parents as a child, residing here since. For a number of years he was employed as an engineer on the Middle division, retiring from the position of switchman in the Altoona yard in 1929. His wife, Mrs. Clarissa (Helsel) Keirn, died in 1926. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: C. Edgar Keirn, Mrs. S. O. Calvert, Howard T., Mrs. R. S. Wolfe and Ira D., all of the city, Miss Sara Elizabeth, at home, Mrs. J. R. Campbell of Roaring Spring and Frank, at home. Thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three brothers and one sister, J. A. Keirn, Abram and Jesse T. Keirn and Mrs. W. W. Orner, all of the city, also survive. Mr. Keirn was a member of the First Methodist church, the B. of L.F. & E., Red Men and P.O.S. of A. The body may be viewed at the home where funeral services will be held at 2.30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Private interment will be made in Alto-Reste cemetery.
