Kephart of McKee, died this morning at 4.10 o'clock at the Nason hospital at Roaring Spring following a paralytic stroke after being ill for about a month. She was admitted to the institution about two weeks ago. She was born at Pavia, Bedford county, on October 11, 1862, a daughter of John and Ann Elizabeth Gordon. She was united in marriage on Jan. 1, 1879 to William B. Kephart who died about eight years ago. To this union nine children were born, the following surviving: Mrs. Mabel Price, Mrs. Dorothy Schenk, John E. Kephart and William R. Kephart, all of Erie, Pa., James C. Kephart and Mrs. Fannie Mentzer of McKee, Mrs. Irene Morrison and Mrs. Ray Gray of Roaring Spring R.D. She is also survived by one brother and one sister, Mrs. Levi Thomas of Roaring Spring and Bruce Gordon of Roaring Spring R.D. She was a member of the Methodist church at McKee. The remains will be taken to her home at McKee this afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Methodist church at McKee in charge of her pastor, Rev. Frank Montgomery. Interment will follow in Greenlaw [sic] cemetery, Roaring Spring. Altoona Mirror, December 17, 1935
