Kephart, an aged and respected resident of the Eighth ward, died of diseases incident to old age, at his home, 423 Fifth avenue, at 6 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Kephart was born near Hollidaysburg, May 30, 1836, and has resided in Altoona since 1870. He was employed as weigh master in the foundry shops of the P.R.R. until his retirement about twenty years ago. On Oct. 11, 1883, he was married to Louisa A. Engle, who survives, with one son, Quinter, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has been an active and consistent member of the Sixth Avenue Church of the Brethren for more than forty years, having served as deacon since 1883. His daily life was devoted to following the Master's precepts, and his acts of kindness and charity are known to many. Funeral services will be held at the Sixth Avenue Church of the Brethren, on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30. Then the cortege will proceed to the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, where a short service will be held, interment to be made in the Carson Valley cemetery.
