Loudon of 3945 Burgoon road South Altoona. He was in ill health only a week, being able to be about until yesterday. Death was due to diseases incident to old age. He was a native of Academia, Juniata county, where he was born Feb. 11, 1836. He came to Altoona in 1866 and was employed as a blacksmith, retiring at the age of 70 years in 1906. He was one of the oldest living retired men is this section. He was married in Juniata county to Miss Catharine Koons on Jan. 24, 1861. Surviving are five children, George K. of Buffalo, J. Westley of Mobile, Ala, Thomas B. of Altoona, Core, wife of Dr. E. W. Loudon of South Altoona and Mary, wife of J. W. Condon of 910 Sixth avenue, this city. He was the last of a family of thirteen children and was a lifelong member of the Methodist church; being affiliated with the Eighth Avenue Methodist church.
