Sunday at his home on Second street, Williamsburg, after an illness covering a period of over three years during which time he has been an invalid. He was the only son of Druggist David T. and Celia Bachtell Ketring, born September 19, 1882, at Maria, Bedford county, Pa. At an early age with his parents he removed to Williamsburg, where he grew up, acquiring a liberal education through the medium of the Williamsburg public schools. (a graduate of the Williamsburg High school class of 1900) and later in the Scranton International school, specializing in surveying, in which profession he acquired an enviable reputation, gaining much practical knowledge while engaged under Charles Bossler, state division superintendent of highways, for about five years, the last three of which he was employed as inspector of highways when he was stationed at Philipsburg. Since that time he was compelled to relinquish his work on account of failing health. From his earliest boyhood he was unusually bright and genial and made friends wherever he went and was beloved by many. He was affiliated with the Lutheran church of Williamsburg, a Mason, member of Portage lodge 220, Hollidaysburg. The funeral will occur (in charge of Masonic order) at his late home Wednesday at 1 o'clock, services conducted by Rev. J. M. Rearick, pastor of the Lutheran church. Interment will follow in the Presbyterian cemetery, Williamsburg. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, January 4, 1916, page 16
