Mrs. Catherine Ketrow died at the home of her son, David B. Ketrow, 926 First avenue, yesterday morning at 11.20 o'clock, after an illness of three months, due to apoplexy. She was born in Baden, Germany, Nov. 15, 1841, being the daughter of Jacob and Catherine Filer, both deceased. Coming to American at the age of 12 years, she had lived here ever since that time. Forty-three years ago, her husband, Minter Ketrow, with whom she was united in marriage at Indianapolis, Ind., Oct. 5, 1858, preceded her to the grave; two sons and a daughter also are deceased. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the following children survive: Mrs. W. I. Marshall, Joseph H. and David B. Ketrow, all of this city and Charles L. Ketrow of Lakemont, brother, Charles Filer, and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Nickola and Mrs. Caroline Robertson, the former two residing in this city and the latter in Pleasant Valley, also survive. She was a member of the Second Lutheran church, and was well and favorably known among her neighbors. A host of friends will be grieved to hear of her death. Funeral services which will be private will be conducted at the home of her son, David B. Ketrow, tomorrow afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. The body can be viewed at the Ketrow home after 6 o'clock this evening, interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Monday Morning, November 25, 1918
