All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ KIENZLE John Michael Kienzle died on Wednesday evening at 8.45 o'clock at his home on Woodland avenue, Tyrone, death being caused by hemorrhage of the stomach. Mr. Kienzle has been a resident of Tyrone for the past forty-two years and was retired from the baking business six years ago. He was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, Nov. 11, 1848 and came to America when 18 years of age, locating first in Philadelphia where he learned the baking trade. Coming to Tyrone in 1876 he became a partner of his brother George Kienzle, in the baking business and remained with him for thirteen years until each went into business for himself. Mr. Kienzle, upon retiring sold his business to J. M. McWilliams. He was married Oct. 30, 1889 to Miss Katherine Hewel who survives with the following children: Carl, Agnes, M. Katherine C., all at home and Paul M., in the U.S. army at Vancouver, Wash. The following brothers and sisters also survive: George J. and Christ F., both of Tyrone; Mrs. Mary Brenner of Springfield, Mass., and Mrs. Fred Schmidt of Clearfield. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church of tyrone, the Elks and Masons. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, December 19, 1918 TYRONE The funeral of the late John M. Kienzle will take place from the home on Woodland avenue Tuesday morning at 1.30 o'clock. His son Paul, who has been in the National army at Vancouver, Washington, is enroute home and will arrive here Sunday night or Monday morning.
