A nine-months-old child of John Killian, residing on Fifth avenue, near Fifth street, died under very distressing circumstances yesterday afternoon. The mother had put the child to sleep in a cradle up stairs, and later in the day went up to see whether it had awakened and discovered a pillow lying on its face. Removing the same the mother discovered to her great sorrow that the child was dead, having been suffocated by the pillow lying on its face, which had been accidentally placed there by a four-year-old brother of the child. The funeral of the little one will occur to-morrow. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, July 14, 1880 CITY AND COUNTRY Things Briefly Told.
