On Sunday morning at 2.10 o'clock the spirit life of Franklin Killinger passed into the great beyond. Mr. Killinger has been quite ill the past month with dropsy and heart disease and was unable to combat with the complication on account of his advanced age and weakened condition. Deceased was born at Rockforge, Pennsylvania, in 1835, and was aged 78 years and 17 days. He came to Tyrone about forty-five years ago and has resided here ever since. During the Civil war he enlisted in the 79th Regiment P. V. I. March 7, 1865, and was honorably discharged July 12, 1865. Surviving to mourn his death are the following children: Mrs. Joseph Garland, and Mrs. Grant Briner, of Tyrone; William, of Minersville, and Joseph, of Jonesville. His wife, Mrs. Susan Custaborder Killinger, passed away about sixteen years ago. He is also survived by one brother, William, of Lock Haven. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Garland, where he died, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and were conducted by Rev. C. W. Karns, pastor of the Columbia Avenue Methodist Episcopal church. Interment was made at Bellwood. The Tyrone Herald, Thursday, March 20, 1913
