He had suffered a stroke on January 7 of this year. He was born March 23, 1910, at Tyrone, a son of Robert J. and Nellie B. (Bonsell) Kingston. He was twice married, first to Ruth (Hale) Kingston, who died December 14, 1960. On Oct. 29, 1964, at the Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia, he was married to Marie (Reader) Schetrompf by Reverend Clark. He is survived by his wife; one step daughter and two step sons: Mrs. Connie M. Sette, New Canaan, Connecticut; Robert E. Schetrompf, Lynchburg, Virginia; and Waiter G. Schetrompf, Mentor, Ohio; five step grandsons and one step granddaughter; one brother, James L., of Tyrone, and one niece, Mrs. Barbara Sampson of New York City. He was of the Protestant faith and a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Private First Class with the 526lh AAA Gunnery Battalion. He had been employed at Rupert Chevrolet Company, retiring in 1977, with more than 40 years service. Private funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, with the Reverend Sherwood Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
