Mr. Kloss was very well known as an inventor of innovative audio and video components and was awarded by an almost cult-like devotion from those who bought his equipment. As late as 2000, Mr. Kloss invented a tabletop radio, the Model One, and again Kloss followers marveled at the rich sound from the small wooden cabinet. His son, David, is quoted as saying that even at the height of his success, his father's big thing was never to make money. It was to pay the bills and create great stereos for the masses. Mr. Kloss was the son of former Tyrone residents, Dan and Gloria Kloss. He graduated from Tyrone High School in 1947. He had two sisters, Gloria and Henrietta. Tyrone Daily Herald, February 2, 2002
