The child, it is said, died suddenly and no physician had been called in to treat it. Consequently when the father visited Undertaker Hickey & O'Neil, he had no physician's certificate showing the cause of death. The undertaker cannot get a permit to bury a body in any cemetery unless he has a certificate, signed by the attending physician or the coroner, showing the cause of death. The case was reported to Coroner McCartney and he made an investigation today, but discovered nothing wrong, only that no physician had treated the child. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Interment being made in St. Mary's cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Thursday Evening, October 5, 1899
