He spent the larger part of his life in Duncansville where he was born August 7, 1854. He was a cooper by trade and during the nail industry period in his native town followed that occupation, later he embarked in the cobler [sic] trade and added to his shoe shop a grocery store in which he interested himself until his death. He was a member of the local lodge independent Order of Red Men. His wife preceded him to the grave last July and surviving are one brother, T. F. Koon, and one sister, Mrs. John Hicks, both of Duncansville. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his late residence, interment in Carson Valley cemetery.
