All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOHN KRAMER, A well-known citizen of this city died at the residence of Mr. James Sherdon, 1428 Second avenue, this morning at 1:45 o'clock, of diseases incident to old age and kidney trouble. The deceased was born in [B]avaria, Germany, and was aged 80 years. He came to this country about 50 years ago, and settled at Hollidaysburg. In 1856 he removed to this city and has resided here off and on ever since. He was employed by the [line of type missing from obit] has lived a retired life for the past 20 years. He was a veteran in the late war, being honorably discharged. Mr. Kramer was a member of St. Mary's German Catholic church, and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Dunn, of Logan township. The funeral will take place Saturday morning. Mass to [be] celebrated in the St. Mary's Catholic church. Interment in St. John's cemetery. Altoona Mirror, September 24, 1896
