Trainmen on Extra freight 630, eastbound, discovered the man's body, shortly before 6 o'clock. His right arm was crushed off and a small hole in the skull was found. Officials have been unable to learn whether Kuhn was run down by a train while walking on the track, or if he fell off while riding eastward. His watch was stopped at 11.10 o'clock. No one saw the accident. Kuhn left the city Friday with the crew of Conductor W. F. Hamilton, of Altoona, and completed his run at Blairsville. He then marked off for some reason and it was presumed he meant to come home. Kuhn was employed in the Pennsy boiler shop until he quit to become a brakeman. He was widely known, and was born in Germany, March 7, 1881. His wife, one daughter, Regina, and his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Kuhn, of this city, survive with a brother, George, of Altoona. He was a member of the P.R.R. Relief association. Undertaker Van, at Bolivar, prepared the body for burial and it will be brought here today. Funeral services will be held at 2.30 Thursday afternoon at the home. Burial in Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday morning, May 14, 1918, page 1
