LaBRANCHE [photo] Former City Woman Dies Mary Louise LaBranche, 68, of 535 74th Ave., N., St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of 3803 Burgoon Road, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 1981, in St. Petersburg General Hospital. Mrs. LaBranche was one of the first school guards in the city and was the first guard at Baker School. She was born July 19, 1912, in South Fork, the daughter of Frank and Mary Taylor, and was raised by foster parents, Clark and Helen Lydic, and was twice married, first to Albert A. Blackburn, who died Oct. 17, 1963, then to Joseph Raymond LaBranche. Surviving are her husband, two children, Mrs. Judy Birely of York and Dennis A. Blackburn of Friendswoods, Houston, Texas; three stepchildren, Edward LaBranche of West Springfield, Mass., and Mrs. Barbara Bates and Mrs. Susan Reynolds of Hazardville, Conn.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, his foster mother of South Fork and a brother and sister, Helen of Washington, D.C., and Joseph Elnicky of Los Angeles, Calif. A brother, Andrew, died Jan. 19, 1981. Mrs. LaBranche was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg. While is Altoona, she was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, Blair County Women's Republican Club, Blair County Republican Committee and Heidelberg Country Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Carn Funeral Home. LaBRANCHE - Services for Mary Louise (Blackburn) LaBranche, formerly of 3803 Burgoon Road, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Carn Funeral Home. Interment in Alto-Reste Park.
