Lafferty, a former resident of Altoona, died on Friday, December 22 at Norfolk, Neb. Deceased was a brother of George Lafferty, formerly of 328 Fourth avenue and who died last January. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having served as a member of the Twelfth Pennsylvania cavalry. He will be remembered by the older residents of this vicinity. Soon after the close of the war he went west but had been back several times on visits. For a number of years he served as postmaster at Wisner, Neb. He was a member of the G.A.R. at Norfolk and was held in high esteem by the people of that town and at Norfolk. One sister, Mrs. Daniel Sipe, of Ebensburg, is still living and is the only surviving member of the family. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday Morning, January 1, 1917
