DEATH OF JEFFERSON LANDER He Was Born in 1807 and Peacefully Slept Away the Last Hours of His Life at His Home Yesterday Morning Mr. Jefferson Lander, an aged and highly respected citizen, died at his home corner of Lexington avenue and Ninth street, at 8.10 yesterday morning of diseases incident to old age. He had been ailing for some time, though his most serious illness was of recent beginning. The deceased was born July 7, 1807, in Milton, Northampton county, and moved to Centre county in 1845. In 1865 he located in Lock Haven, Pa., embarking in the, wholesale furniture business. In 1861, while a resident of Centre (county, he was elected justice of the peace in the township in which he resided. He came to Altoona in 1882, and has since resided here. During the year 1831, Mr. Lander was married to Miss Nancy Seydell, at Milton, Pa. She preceded him to the grave one month ago. The following children, born to this union are yet living: W. A. Lander, Mrs. S. L. Bitner and Mrs. N. J. Farnesworth, of this city; Mrs. Emma Geary, of Lock Haven, and Misses Sarah, Emma and Rebecca, at home. The deceased was a Presbyterian by faith, and a member of the First congregation of this city. Funeral services will be held at the late residence at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. J.
