At 6 o'clock yesterday morning Mrs. Catherine Lanners, of Lincoln avenue, died from complications following a general breakdown. She had been an invalid for the past fifteen years, but seemed to be as well as usual on Tuesday night. Mrs. Lanners was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bickle and was born at Atting, Bavaria, Germany, August 8, 1842. After the death of her mother, her father came to this country, making arrangements with relatives for the care of his children. After working for about four years at Hollidaysburg he returned to his native land and brought his children to America, again resuming his work at Hollidaysburg. It was here in 1861 that she was married to William Lanners, of Tyrone, a former well known contractor. He passed away in November, 1906. Since the age of 19 years deceased had been a faithful member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic church. She leaves the following children: William and Miss Elizabeth, at home; John and Mrs. James Walsh, of Tyrone, and Albert G. Lanners, of Philadelphia. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother - Mrs. Helena Trimmel, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Teresa Meyer, of St. Cloud, Minn., and Joseph Bickle, of Bavaria, Germany. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning from St. Matthew's church at 9 o'clock. Interment in Oak Grove cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, December 14, 1916
