A telegram yesterday morning to William Lanners, sr., of 1436 North Logan avenue, conveyed the sad intelligence that his son, Theodore J. Lanners, had been killed on the railroad at Latrobe the night previous. He is a stone mason and for some months past had been doing some work at the Hostetter brick works near Latrobe. No details of the accident were given. His brothers, William, jr., and John Lanners, who have been working at Gallitzin, left yesterday afternoon for Latrobe and will fetch the remains here for burial service. Morning Tribune, Friday, November 3, 1899 TYRONE TOPICS. The remains of Theodore J. Lanners, whose death near Latrobe, Pa., was noticed in the TRIBUNE yesterday morning, were brought to this station on day express yesterday morning at 11.30 and removed to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lanners, sr., 1436 North Logan avenue. The body was first discovered about 12 o'clock Wednesday night along the west bound track of the Pennsylvania railroad in Latrobe borough, he apparently being on his way to his boarding house at the Hostetter Coke works, where he was employed at mason work, when it is supposed he was hit by a passing train, the theory of possible murder not being generally believed. The deceased was born in Tyrone, December 25, 1874, and at death was aged 24 years, 10 months and 7 days. He is survived by his father and mother, William and Catharine Lanners, and three [sic] brothers and sisters, viz: William, jr., John, Mary and Albert Lanners at home, and Elizabeth Lanners, of Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held in St. Matthew's Catholic church this morning at 9 o'clock. Interment to follow in Oak Grove cemetery. Morning Tribune, Saturday, November 4, 1899
