LANTZ Of 2513 Oak avenue, died at 7.25 o'clock Saturday evening at his home after an illness of six weeks. He was born March 21, 1870, in Altoona, a son of Jacob M. and Eliza Belle (Kepperley) Lantz. His wife, Catherine (Luckart) Lantz, died in March 1925. Mr. Lantz was a bridge builder a number of years ago. He helped build the dome on the Congressional library in Washington, D.C. The greater part of his life he was employed as a machinist with the Pennsylvania railroad and retired from the company in August, 1937, after 39 years' service. During World war II he was employed by the war department as inspector of locomotives, being sent overseas. Surviving are the following daughters: Alfaretta, Ruth and Jennie, all of Altoona, and Catherine of Newark, N.J.; three brothers, Aden M., Elbridge G. and Clyde R., all of Altoona, and one sister, Mrs. Robert G. Beach of Altoona. Mr. Lantz was a member of the Eighth Avenue Methodist church. Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home. Altoona Mirror, Monday Evening, August 23, 1948
