Died at the Home of His Brother on Lincoln Avenue. Monday morning at 5:40 o’clock Benjamin Jones LaPorte died at the home of his brother, A. M. LaPorte, on Lincoln avenue, after prolonged illness from diseases incident to old age. He was the eldest child of John and Mary Ann Jones LaPorte and was born October 21, 1834, being past eighty years of age at the time of his death. The first forty years of his life were spent in Spruce Creek valley, but in 1874 he settled in Philipsburg, where he filled the office of justice of the peace for many years and which had been his home until last July wince which time he has been in Tyrone. Benjamin Jones LaPorte was married February 14, 1872, to Miss Leander Ewing, who passed away, September, 1911. The decease had been for many years a member of the Presbyterian church, first in Graysville, afterward in Philipsburg. Services were held at the home of A. M.
