  MRS. MARIA BUCHER LAPORTE: - Wife of Burgess A. M. LaPorte, of 
Tyrone, died at the family home 1201 Lincoln Ave., at 10 o'clock last 
Saturday morning from stomach affliction and had been seriously ill the 
past two months.  She was aged 51 years.  Mrs. LaPorte was the daughter 
of Geo. B. Porter and Sarah W. (Lyon) Porter, and was born at 
Alexandria, Huntingdon county, on Oct. 17th, 1853.  In Feb. 1881, she 
was married to A. M. LaPorte, and since that time had resided in 
Tyrone.  She is survived by her husband, father and Miss Martha 
LaPorte, all residing at home.
  Funeral services occurred on Monday.  The remains were conveyed to 
Alexandria for interment.
