Mr. Lasher had been bedfast only two days, although his health has been failing for some years. Born on June 9, 1807, he was nearly 86 years of age. His birth place was Wittenberg, Germany. When he was 32 years old he came to this country, landing in Baltimore. From there he went to Water Street, Huntingdon county, and afterwards worked on the old Portage road. Prior to 1860 he settled in Hollidaysburg, which place he made his home until just about one year ago. Mr. Lasher was a widower for nearly 20 years, his wife having died in 1873. He is survived by two sons, Peter and William, and a number of grandchildren. He was a member of St. Michael's German Catholic church of Hollidaysburg. The funeral took place on Friday. His remains were brought to Hollidaysburg and interred in the Catholic cemetery.
