All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Death of a Respected Citizen Washington Lathero, a respected resident of this city, died at his home at No. 813 Eighth avenue, at 6 o'clock yesterday morning, the cause of death being bronchitis. He was aged 63 years, and besides his wife he is survived by nine children, five sons and four daughters. They are: Jacob and John, of this city; Albert, of Huntingdon; Thomas, of Minnesota; Scott, of Kansas; Emma, Mrs. John Girber, and Mrs. William Aileman, of Altoona, and Mrs. George Witmar, of Nebraska. The deceased came to this city in 1871, and has made it his home since. He was a consistent member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, of Altoona lodge 473, and encampment No. 129, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and S. C. Potts post No. 62, Grand Army of the Republic. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
