Death was due to a complication of diseases due to advanced age. Mr. Latshaw was born at York, York county, this state, November 12, 1835. He remained at the home of his parents until he was 18 years of age, when he came to Morrison's Cove, locating at Woodbury, where he was a teacher in the public schools. Later he took up farming as his life occupation, at Curryville, which he continued until some years ago when he retired. For over forty years he was a member of the Old River Brethren church, known in this community by the nick-name Yonkers, and continued in the faith steadfastly until death. The funeral occurred Thursday morning, May 30. Services were conducted in the Curryville Church of the Brethren, by Rev. D. D. Myers and Rev. Daniel Hawbaker, of Lehmaster, Franklin county. The funeral was very largely attended. Interment was made in Spring Hope cemetery, Martinsburg. Besides his wife he is survived by one son and three daughters: John Latshaw, Mrs. William B. Kauffman and Mrs. Levi B. Hoover, all of Curryville, and Mrs. John H. Summers of Lakemont. Two sons preceded him to the eternal world, Harry, thirteen years ago, and Rev. Elliott S., three years ago.
