Mr. Laufer was taken ill last Friday and his condition did not reach a critical stage until yesterday morning when he was removed to the local hospital for treatment. Mr. Laufer was born in Duncansville Oct. 21, 1891, the son of Valentine and Blanche Laufer and has been a resident of this city for the past six years. He was employed as a machinist by the Pennsy at East Altoona. Mr. Laufer was married in this city Sept. 29, 1921 to Eva Kushtoes of Hopewell, Bedford county, who survives with two children, William Lee and Audrey June. In addition to the widow and children he is also survived by the parents who live at South Lakemont, the following sisters and one brother: Mrs. Joseph McColl of Clearfield, Mrs. Charles Bickel of this city, Mrs. Joseph Smith of South Lakemont; Miss Jeanette Laufer at home, also a half sister, Mrs. Robert Neely of Huntingdon and Dewey Laufer of this city.
