He was the husband of Christine Hand Laughlin. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on October 28. Tom was born on April 29, 1932 in Altoona, PA, the son of the late Henry F. and Ruth Perry Laughlin. Tom is survived by his five children, Lawrence Laughlin and his wife, Donna, Michele Hampton and her husband, Steve, Paul Laughlin and his wife, Janice, Lisa Mann and her husband, David and Tina Mays and her husband, Wayne; thirteen grandchildren, Krissy, Aaron, Matthew, Laura, April, Seth, Travis, Tommy, Cecilia, Amelia, Tyler, Nolan and Samuel and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jessica Laughlin. He is also survived by two sisters, Joanne Sweitzer and Susan Ani and dear friends, Thurman and Ann Ogden. Tom retired from Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington, DC. He was also formerly employed by Plaza Bowl, Best Western and, most recently, Econo Lodge in Lynchburg. An avid bowler, Tom was a coach and Youth League Director at Plaza Bowl, co-founder and member of the Greater Lynchburg Area Bowling Association Hall of Fame, as well as an Association Life Member. Recently, he enjoyed bowling on the Tuesday night men's league at Fort Hill Bowl. He was a lifetime Penn State and Washington Redskins fan and a member of Moose Lodge 1727. A funeral mass was conducted at noon today at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Monsignor J. Kenneth Rush officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
