All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ LAURER Louis Laurer, of 307 Nineteenth street, whose body was found east of White Bridge station yesterday morning, had been struck by a train that passed that point at 2.08 o'clock in the morning. The body was identified by means of papers in the dead man's clothes and was turned over to Funeral Director Van Allman of Hollidaysburg, to be prepared for interment. Louis Laurer was born in New York state on Aug. 25, 1863, and came to Altoona from Utica, N.Y., thirteen years ago, being employed at the American brewery until three years ago. His wife died three years ago and since that time he made his home with a daughter, Mrs. W. T. Lafferty, of 307 Nineteenth street. Surviving are the following children: Louis and Mrs. John Rothrock, both of Utica; Mrs. W. T. Laberty [sic], Mrs. J. Bradley and Miss Elizabeth Laurer, all of this city. One brother, George, in Syracuse, N.Y., also survives. He was a member of the Altoona lodge of Eagles and the Loyal Order of Moose.
