Mrs. Margaret Jennings Lawrence, widow of John L. Lawrence, died at 12:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of her son, A. H. Maxwell Lawrence, 1227 Seventh avenue, from heart trouble. She had been in ill health for the past two years and her death, although not unexpected, was very sudden. Mrs. Lawrence was born in this city on June 14, 1860, the daughter of A. H. and Anna B. Maxwell, both deceased. She was married on September 9, 1884, to John L. Lawrence, of Bristol, England, who preceded her to the grave on April 1, 1914. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal church. Besides her son at whose home she died, she is survived by these two sons and one daughter: J. Llewellyn Lawrence, of Washington, D.C. and Norman M. Lawrence, captain of the 325th infantry, in France, and Miss Margaret F., at home. One brother, George H. Maxwell, of this city, also survives. The funeral services will be held at her late home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, followed by interment in Fairview cemetery. Services and interment will be private. Friends will kindly omit flowers. Altoona Tribune, Monday, March 3, 1919, page 4
