GRACE LEIGHTY Of Newry, died unexpectedly at 9.30 p.m. yesterday in the home of her foster sister, Mrs. Pearl Khalouf of Duncansville. She was born Aug. 28, 1899, in Pinecroft, a daughter of Samuel and Annie (Keenan) Riling, and married Wilbur D. Leighty in 1923. He preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Velma Boyer of Newry RD; 13 grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Helen Mays of Altoona, Mrs. Annie Butterbaugh of Wooster, Ohio, Martin of Huntingdon RD, Frank of Ashland, Ohio, Ralph of Fostoria and Mrs. Khalouf. Also surviving are two foster sons, Ronald Riling of Newry and Donald Riling of Bladensburg, Md. Mrs. Leighty was a member of the Newry Lutheran Church. Friends will be received in the Barefoot Funeral Home, East Freedom, after 7 p.m. Thursday. Altoona Mirror, December 29, 1966
