HARVEY B. LEIGHTY

A retired farmer of Newry, died at 6.30 p.m. Thursday after an extended 
illness. He was born near Duncansville Jan. 30, 1879, a son of David 
and Catherine (Stiffler) Leighty, and was united in marriage with 
Elizabeth McGraw McMaster, who died Oct. 10, 1942. For a number of 
years he conducted a farm near Newry in partnership with a brother and 
was well known throughout the Newry area. Mr. Leighty was a member of 
the Newry Lutheran Church. Surviving are the following children:  Mrs. 
Margaret Glass of Duncansville RD 1, Carl of Adrian, Mich., Mrs. 
Catherine Campbell, Mrs. Marie Dodson, James and Robert, all of Newry; 
two brothers, David and Lloyd of Newry; one sister, Mrs. Ella Weaver of 
Newry; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be 
received at the Creamer & Plank Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, after 7 
p.m. Saturday.
