"Cowboy Fred" Leonard, 74, of Box 72-A, RR 4 Tyrone, and formerly of Bellwood, passed away Saturday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2003, at the Tyrone Hospital Emergency Room. He was born April 2, 1929 in Lakemont, the son of the late Robert and Jessie (Barndollar) Leonard. He married Mary B. (Fink) Mock on June 26, 2000 in Bellwood. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, She Devil Dasher of Muncy and Jeanette Mundorff of Williamsport; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; six step-children and a brother, Bill Leonard of Maryland. He was preceded in death by a son Dan F. Leonard, who at age six was killed by lightning, and a brother, Kenneth, who died in 2002. He retired as a maintenance technician from the board of education in Baltimore, Md. He owned and loved riding motorcycles during his lifetime and was all animals "best friend." He was a proud member of The Bikes Aimed Toward Education. He was an avid supporter of The Fraternal Order of State Police. There is an annual "Cowboy Fred" Teddy Bear Run every year at Muncy, where the teddy bears collected are donated to terminally ill children, or those in need of a teddy bear, due to a house fire, accident, etc. The yearly run will continue in his memory. There will be no funeral service or viewing. Arrangements by the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home in Bellwood.
